Cutting Nature

Oil on Canvas. This assignment's focus was on hard edges, meaning sharp features in a painting and expand on the use of different materials. I made a bouquet of flowers my subject and painted sharp lines with varying widths and lengths "cutting" through the flower image. This project led to a deeper exploration of the color wheel and using lines to guide the viewer throughout the painting.
